This is one of my favorite books. I first saw it at a friend's house in 1995 and had to drive over 100 miles to find a bookstore which had a copy. I bought two, one for myself and another to gift to a very dear friend. Both of us still reach for the book with incredible frequency.

I think it is a magic book because I use it like a drug when I'm feeling stressed out or looking for a creative spark. I can browse through its pages quickly or I can stop and admire a single page for a long time. Goldsworthy is a visionary whose grasp of the transient quality of art and nature is unlike that of any artist I've ever seen. His natural constructions are breathtaking in the duality of their complexity and simplicity, and of the causal parallelism of natural and man-made space. There is no synchronicity here, just the beautiful illusion of it.

Thanks to the internet, I have purchased this book many, many times to give as a gift to only the people whom I have a deep connection with. I have gifted many books over the years, but this is the only one I give people that I absolutely know they look at over and over.

It's definitely one of my "trapped on a desert island" books. If I was only allowed one, this would probably be it because I would never tire of it. I've paged through it, easily, 1000+ times. I highly recommend it.

He is a genius, so inspiring, he has completely changed the way I experience nature. Buy all his other books, they are wonderful and you will never tire looking at them
Andy Goldsworthy's "A Collaboration With Nature" is one of several masterfully done works by this artist. Taking common objects found in nature and transforming them into breathtaking works of art that exist for only as long as nature allows them to exist is the mark of Goldsworthy. The man himself will work for hour upon hour in conditions that would cause most of us to head back for shelter and hot coffee. His true genius is an eye for and the ability to shape and create from nature's pure materials. Purchase this book but be forwarned...You will yearn for more.
Inspiring. Motivated me to "craft" together a few natural art projects.
Andy Goldworthy clearly has an astonishing way of interpreting the world around him. I've grown so weary of photography books filled to capacity with picture postcard scenic overlooks and color-saturated closeups of bees on flower petals. Goldworthy embeds himself in the natural world; all the while remaining in touch with his surroundings, he visually articulates a wonderfully unique re-interpretation that is at once both fresh and startling. As a visual arts educator, I find this book to be a superb exemplar and asset for introducing students to ways of creatively thinking outside the box. For me personally, I can go back time and again to re-examine Goldworthy's concepts, designs, and images and always find something new to admire. Beautifully reproduced, bound and printed, one word sums this book up Wow.
As a Goldsworthy lover, I consider this his best all around book. It is a coffee table photo-book of Goldsworthy creations made from leaves, sticks, stones, icicles, snow and more. The photos are surprising and delightful.

I'm a nature teacher, and these books are great teaching resources; the kids get the idea immediately and spontaneously start making little Goldsworthies. They also make wonderful gifts, coffee table books, and fundraiser auction items. Every well stocked home library should have at least one Goldsworthy book, and believe it, I just found my teenager flipping through this book the other day.

Hey everybody! We have a new $2 million Goldsworthy art installation at the Saint Louis Art Museum as of June 2013!
I started reading this book while visiting a cousin who has an incredible library. She offered to let me take her copy home with me then mail it back when I finished. I told her I just had to buy a copy but thanks anyway. So glad I did. My copy is like-new. Best of all is it is mine to enjoy at home or anywhere else. The only thing that could make it better is the author's signature. This book would also make a great gift for someone who needs relief from the heaviness of life troubles.
