Tristan is the only character in this book that I like. He is sweet, brave, and everything that you could want as your white night. The bad guy, Gideon makes Voldemort look like a misunderstood rascal. In the beginning Tristan describes him as evil incarnate, and he truly is. The things that he does is truly sick. In this book those who are on the dark side feed off of humans like parasites, but they don't kill the humans they feed from (Its against the law) and they don't have to kill to feed, they can just take a little from each person. But Gideon kills angels and humans alike just because he can. He kills a little boy and wonders why everyone around would feel sorrow for him when they don't know him. If I thought that this book would end with Tristan slaying Gideon in a glorious battle, I would try to read till the end. But not only are we supposed to feel sorry for him, but root for him to find love with the very dense child of the elders. She has a dream that Gideon kills her after she foolishly gave him a ride home.In the dream, she is kicking herself for getting herself killed over a pretty face. but that same day at school, even after she realizes that Gideon is very real and probably wants to kill her, all she can think of is how hot he is. Her father has trained her all of her life to be able to battle evil like Gideon, but is so airheaded that she puts her life in jeopardy over y a pretty face. Gideon passed sadistic psychopathic murderer five towns ago, but I am supposed to hope that he finds happiness with the airheaded chic? I don't like either of them so maybe they deserve each other.

This is one of the best books I've ever read! it grips your heart and doesn't let go. l couldn't put it down! I need the sequel! My one piece of advice I'd give to Melody Manful, write faster!

Honestly ,book was actually disappointing the typical good versus evil redone with angels and demons .If your seeking a deep book look elsewhere.
This book was way off from what I normally read, and thats why I picked it. I really enjoyed Dominion. Abigial is a kick ass charcter that has some amazing trainging that I wish she would have used more. It had a lot of intresting little quirks, and some other little things that I really didnt understand. Tristen, and Gideon are good and bad angels that basically fall for the same human girl.. The ending totally leaves you hanging.. Right when it really starts getting good.. Can't wait for the 2nd Guardian Angels book..
Very compelling. From the cover and the first few chapters it looks like you have one good guy and one bad guy. But it's not that easy and Manful developes these characters with depth in unexpected ways.
Wonderful heroine - smart and able to defend herself. Not once does she do anything stupid to kickstart the plot like so many books do.
Hated first two pages but jumped ahead a few chapters and got hooked Went back to read the two chapters I missed and ended up reading the whole book without noticing until I was done.
Where's the sequel?
DOMINION has three major players Abigail the human, Tristan her guardian angel, and Gideon who is Tristan’s opposite. Tristan is an angel prince and Gideon is the most feared entity in the angelic world. I liked Abigail for her no-nonsense attitude in the beginning of the story. She’s got weapons and offensive/defensive training thanks to her CIA father, but she’s also a 16 year old girl. She is heavily swayed by her emotions, even when her training should take precedence. I enjoyed Gideon’s character because you got to see him grow as the story progressed. He hid his pain and suffering at first through a façade of destruction and chaos. Through his relationship with Abigail, he learns to loosen up, enjoy life, and understand the rollercoaster of love. Tristan is kind of two-dimensional - he's the goody-goody. I wasn’t a fan of the potential love triangle aspect of the story as I think it’s been overplayed in general. Overall, I liked the worlds in DOMINION and the story was interesting, but needed some tightening and character consistency. In addition, there is a cliffhanger which left me turning the page looking for the rest of the story. To me, DOMINION is a redemption story trapped within a romance.
