Hurricane Dan A Zombie Novel eBook Bret Wellman
This was an action packed, suspense filled, exciting story. I never imagined that reading a story could freak me out the way a movie could, but it sure did. The only slightly negative thing I would say is the title didn't fit, other than it contains the lead characters name.Spoiler: I loved the scene where a group of survivors were swimming through the subway (as it had flooded) with only one flash light and about half way through they realized they were swimming above the heads of hundreds of zombies. When the flash light fell to the bottom and lit them up, I had to stop reading so I could tell everyone within earshot what just happened.
Very exciting story. Highly recommend this one.

Hurricane Dan A Zombie Novel eBook Bret Wellman Reviews
This was a great story! The characters were really easy to follow and like. I know that in a real apocalypse that a lot of people would die but it was still sad to see some of my favorites get lost. The story was easy to get lost in and it was difficult to come up for air. All in all it was well worth the price. Read it, you won't be disappointed! Thank you Mr. Wellman for a truly wonderful story!
Getting this book for free had me feeling that I may be disappointed, but boy was I wrong !!! It started with a bang and was
exciting all the way through. Will not go into detail but was sad in a couple instances, but guess I need to remember with zombies
around close friends may be dying !!! Lots & lots of action and zombie gore, just what we all love for this genre.
Hope to see more from this author---did a great job.
Not a bad book!! Full of action, and great characters. Some of the scenes and instances are a little predictable and far out, but hey, it is a zombie novel after all!!! Overall, a very action-packed and fun read for lovers of this genre!!
And no, I am not a friend of the author's, this is an honest and unbiased review. Thanks to the author for offering this for free, unlike SO many self-publish novels, this one had a great editor which made it a pleasure to read.
Whatever happened to the bartender and his son?
BW has written a high octane novel about a group of scientist and religious zealots who discover that the Bubonic Plague was actually a man made disease that caused normal humans to turn into zombie's. One man who was fired from his job became a drunk and hero at the same time. He became the ultimate swordsman who was capable of stopping the attack of the zombies. This is an excellent read for the genre.. . ER
I really enjoyed reading your stories. Thank you for the bonus story. Enjoyable, both. Dan is especially good ..Most stories have a hero and everything goes perfect. This was funny although it wasn't perfect for your hero. Keep writing enjoyed both the story and the characters.
I loved this book, and I read a lot of Zombie books. It was so refreshing to read a book that actually had an ending. I know serial books are better for making money, but they are not always better to read. The characters felt real, not superhuman, and the storyline was believable, and the zombie action was all that-- another few positives to this book. On top of these, it was free!
*****Spoiler Alert!*****
This one even had a positive ending! Very rare in zombie stories.
So you have Dan recently laid off and removed from his home for not paying any of his bills. After stealing people's drinks at a club and thrown out, he forms a friendship with a drunk but kind homeless men by the name of Barns. They become the first to witness the origin of how the zombie plauge spreads across Manhattan and New Jersey without their knowledge.
The next day it's in full effect and you find yourself on a fast paced and action packed journey with Dan who forms strange "frienships" with a diverse group of people from cops to douchebag neighbors who "collect" swords and yes, there is even a "love" story through this chaos. I love Dan and his ragtag team. They're all smart and pretty badass when beating down zombies and they're incredibely lucky for the most part.
Dan may be a "loser" but he's an incredibely complelling character. He's a natural leader under extreme situations. As with all zombie novels, endings are always bitttersweet.
This was a pretty good read, although, the "Bubonic Plague" broadcast was pretty corny. However, I absolutely loved that random briefcase filled with tons of money, that Dan protected with his life during a zombie plague. Now that was pure ridiculous genius. Lol
